The Boston Celtics secured their 16th NBA championship on June 8, 1986, defeating the Houston Rockets in a dominating 114-97 victory in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

The Celtics dominated the game from the opening tip, holding the Rockets to a mere 14 points in the first quarter. Boston's defense was stifling, forcing Houston into numerous turnovers and limiting their star player, Hakeem Olajuwon, to just 12 points on 4-of-11 shooting.

Larry Bird led the Celtics with a 29-point performance, while Kevin McHale added 24 points and 16 rebounds. Danny Ainge also contributed with 19 points off the bench, hitting five three-pointers.
